Fees for Recertification
The certification period is five years. Fees for recertification include an Application Fee of $400 (USD). Certified Geriatric Pharmacists will also be required to pay a Certification Administration Fee in order to maintain their 5 year certification.
The Certification Administration Fee may be paid as a single payment of $250 (USD) to cover the full five-year period of certification. Alternatively, the fee may be paid in four annual installments of $75 each, beginning the year after certification.
Fees may be paid by credit card (VISA, MasterCard, Discover or American Express) or by check or money order made payable to CCGP. Application fees are non-refundable. Exceptions to this policy will be determined by the CCGP Executive Committee and appeals will be considered only on the basis of documented hardships.
Candidates must submit the appropriate fee with the application form. Returned checks and/or declined credit card transactions will be subject to a $25 (USD) handling fee. You must send a certified check or money order for the amount due, including the non-sufficient funds fee, to CCGP to cover returned check and/or declined credit card transactions.
The Application Fee supports the administration of the recertification examination and CCGP’s role in administering the Professional Development Program. The Certification Administration Fee supports the operations of CCGP and will provide benefits such as a quarterly newsletter and a published directory of certificants.
To be eligible for recertification, a Certified Geriatric Pharmacist must be “in good standing” with the CCGP, possess a valid license and must be current in payment of CCGP Fees.
Recertification by the Professional Development Program requires completion of 75 credit hours of designated continuing education over the 5-year certification cycle. CCGP has two authorized professional development providers: the American Society of Consultant Pharmacists and ASHP. The payment for the cost of the CE goes to the professional development provider, not to CCGP. Questions about CE modules or programs should be directed to the ASCP Education Department or to ASHP.
